I remeber Bob Seger and the Last Heard which he formed in 1966 in Detroit. During 1967-1969 the band was a regional phenom in the Great Lakes states. I live in central Ohio and they used to play month long gigs in Columbus at a club. Ramblin' Gamblin" Man was a huge hit in the region and was never played on radio outside of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. We'd go see him 3 and 4 nights a week and only pay a cover on the weekends. He's been a big fav of ours since with that band and the Silver Bullet Band both. This band has always had a polished live show.

Hell, yeah. Saw them at least 10 times.
I remember when the original drummer (Charlie Hayden) got into a car accident and ended up paralyzed from the waist down. Katmandu, Fire Down Below, Turn The Page, and Ain't Got No Money....killer tunes. Drew Abbott still rocks on guitar.

One of the all-time greats and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Out of the Detroit area. Some of the best songs of the late '60's - '80's came from him.

I've heard some of their studio work, but not live stuff. I bought their compilation a while ago and found their material alright. Maybe they're more dynamic on stage, because the collection presented competent but not exhuberant midwestern rock.
