It looks like I may have found a pretty nice job in Fort Pierce, FL. I've looked up information about the area online, but I'm not getting a really good idea of what it's like. Is anyone on here from the area, or familiar with it? Do you like it? About how much does a one-bedroom apartment in an all right area run? What is there to do for fun? Any opinions you can give me on the area would be helpful. Thanks.:)

(PS-I put this question in the Orlando section because it's the closest thing to Fort Pierce I could find, ha.)

Casey ;
I grew up in Stuart,Florida which is one county south of St.Lucie & 20 miles from Ft.Pierce !
Of course I have not been back to that area since 1987
but if you will look on the web for the 'Treasure Coast News' you can get a free subscription to their online newspaper !That area still has alot of good salt water fishing plus the beaches are really pretty good.The state of Florida has lots of State parks all over it plus Ft.pierce is only about 2.5 hours from the amusements area of Orlando. Miami is about 2 hrs south or 125 miles ! Lots of
skindiving in Florida & there are other ways to amuse yourself if you are into sports . Look up :
http://www.myflorida.com/ on the web & you will find all kinds of information for the Treasure Coast area ! The city of Ft.Pierce also has a web site, too !

We have lived in Ocean Village for many years. Located on Hutchinson Island off the coast of Fort Pierce, Ocean Village has been both a vacation place for us in the early years and later, when we retired, a home for us. We have enjoyed our 38 years here with all the amenities Fort Pierce and Hutchinson Island has to offer. Downtown, we take advantage of the wonderful Farmers' Market, Rosslowes' clothing store as well as Alisari and Whimsey. The many restaurants are wonderful--121 Tapas, Bistro, Yellow Tail, The Tike and Cobbs Landing as well as 12A Buoy. On the Island we have On the Edge, many restraurants at the new Jetty, Archies, and our own wonderful INN AT OCEAN VILLAGE. So many things to do in this little town but they need to be sought out by you and enjoyed by you to be appreciated.
