I mean you tell people not to get you anything but they still get you a crappy gift! Why do they disrespect me? If I need it I'll buy it!

OMG!! Finally someone else in this world who thinks the same why I do. I think gifts are lame. They are never anything you want or need anyhow..I don't have family of my own so if i go get a gift..its a pitty gift. If I want something I will get it my damn self.

Only from my friends. I mean when my friends are getting me gifts for my birthday or christmas I usually say the best gift for you to get me is no gift because I really dont want them to spend money on me. Its because they dont have very much money to start with so I really dont think they should go out and buy gifts for me with the little cash they have. It makes me feel selfish.

I prefer just to buy things for other people. I really don't want gifts, but I always get them. The best thing in the world is sitting next to my husband watching our daughter open her presents. I don't need any more than that.

Well they spent the time looking for a gift just for you... however usually if you tell them not to give you a gift, they want to get you one even more!

No I don't. I don't care what the gift is, because for me its always the thought that counts. I appreciate gifts that people get me. There is alot of people out here that is always less fortunate than me.

I don't like crappy gifts, either, but there is something to be said about being gracious about receiving a gift. No one should feel bad because they bought you something so don't make a scene.

no, some people show that they care by giving gifts. You may be the type of person who simply gives words of encouragment to show you care. everyone is different
