Every thing work fine on it but its not readin alot of my dvd-r but vcd it reads. If I put on a original dvd (non copy) it works. I never had this problem before, I put the same dvd drive into a different computer and it seems to read every disk, but not on this newly built one. I update all the drive but its still giving me problems. Help please

probably u might wanna replace the DVD rom

Did you install the drivers for your DVD?

Did you go to www.microsoft.com UPDATE and have all the fixes/service packs applied to your system?

Be sure and go to the DVD makers web page and look for updated drivers.

Ok, I just had this problem myself, go to the manufacturors website for your burner and download the firmware driver kit for your burner, install it and reboot!

Why dunt you try format and install your xp again? to see whether is a o/s problem
