Your nail beds hurt bc they "grind" down your natural nail in order to make the gel nail stick. It's stripping away fine layers of your nail which is why it hurts. If you still want to get the gels, then try taking an Advil before you go. This pain is often called a "nail headache".

I think its because they use that electric filer on the nail bed which is not natural and that destroys the nail bed. Also have you ever noticed people in those stores are wearing masks? Did you ever think that those ingrediants put on your nails are actually harmful to your health? They are and most salons use cheap ingrediants. I read about it on the web because it would make me feel horrible after getting my nails done.

because when you put a chemical onto your nail it sorta weakens the nail and after it has been on there for a while it starts to put the nail through a crucial period where the nail does not have air to help the natural growth and cause the pain that you are feeling

Your natural nails might be rejecting them, kinda like an allergic reaction. Your nail tech. might have filed your natural nails just a lil bit too much. If you had tips applied, they might be a lil snug and the glue holds them tightly in place. So they are squeezing your nails, kinda like fitting in tight pants. You feel uncomfortable. Hope something helps you out.
