1. See a mental health care professional!

Really it can be a beneficial job. My wife has done this for almost 20 years. Some of the children are now second generation, and she NEVER has an open spot more than week or two. She has a reputation in the local school system as "the best". Teachers actually are her best customers. I am able to help due to my work. I relieve her when sick, or otherwise.

You should first plan to be licensed by your state. There are regulations that all have to follow, including criminal background checks, etc. There are also some goofy rules that you must follow, some as obvious as not having a pit bull in the house, others not so obvious such as not feeding youngsters hot dogs!

My advice is to call someone in you city who does this as a living and get all the legal stuff out of the way. Be sure to check also with your homeowners insurance company. This kind of home business is hard to insure. Be ready also to work a 10 to 12 hour day WITH NO BREAK TIME. It is a constant job, but is very rewarding. You may even try to get a job for a month or so in an established day care. After that you may decide to drive a truck or something!

Make sure you have a well defined area of your home that is just for the daycare. Make sure you bleach everything to prevent the spread of germs. Make sure you follow all regulations and make sure the people you have work for you if any are not dirty sick people who get off over young kids. People lie and can fake an application very easily. Do your research!!! Also the name Santas naught mistress doesn't scream child care provider to me!

Good luck!!!
