I think Maroon or a Royal Blue is very pretty especially in velvet. Browns are good too!!

I actually have a large selection of untamed Christmas socks. My favorites are green and crimson argyle with a reindeer head on the ankle--the deer stands out like a crammed animal sewn to the sock.

Bright vivid jewel like colors, such as blue, silver, purple (deep purple not lavender), gold, red, white, black, green, even very bright yellow. This is the time of year when you should shine!

Wearing black is great for any occasions. You might want to try black with sequin and/or beads on your outfit just to jazz it up.
