The list of numbers are the answers and you work backwards from there.

When you are solving a polynomial for the zeroes, you basically want to try to get make the polynomial to look like (x-5)(x-8)=0 so that you can solve for x easier because you can break this down to smaller equations, i.e. x-5=0 and x-8=0. Since you are given the zeroes or answers, you have to work backward. The number of "answers" should be the number of degrees the polynomial has. The first problem has three answers so the polynomial should have the for ax^3+bx^2+cx+d=0.

Working backwards:

1.) -1, 2, 3-2i
so we know x=-1, x=2, x=3-2i
therefore: x+1=0, x-2=0, x-3+2i=0
and (x+1)(x-2)(x-3+2i)=0
(x^2-2x+x-2)(x-3+2i)=0
(x^2-x-2)(x-3+2i)=0
I'll leave the last step to you

second should be

2.) -2,-2+3i
(x+2)(x+2-3i)=0
x^2+2x+(2-3i)x+4-6i=0
and you can do the last step

why do no longer you attempt and sparkling up this making use of a few examples? assume this could be a wide-unfold sq. the two aspects would be an identical length. so for our first sq., permit's have aspects of a million meter. the component of a sq. is length x width. so the component of this sq. could be a million meter squared. a million meter larger by 10% is a million.a million meters. a million.a million x a million.a million = a million.21 meters. a million.21/a million leaves us with 121. this skill that this new sq. is a million.21 cases the dimensions of the unique. or 121% the dimensions of the unique. permit's attempt with an width and length of two meters. the component of that sq. could be 4 meters squared. expanding the aspects by 10% we've lengths of two.2 meters, which finally ends up in a community of four.80 4 meters squared. 4.80 4/4 =a million.21 it is an identical because of the fact the final answer! in case you at the instant are not confident yet we can attempt with a greater random length. permit's say 7.forty two meters! 7.forty two^2= fifty 5.0564 meters squared. expanding the dimensions by ten p.c. skill our aspects at the instant are 8.162 meters long. giving a community of sixty six.618244 meters squared. sixty six.618244/fifty 5.0564 = (you guessed it) a million.21! i'm surprisingly helpful it is the nicely suited approach, in spite of the actuality that to be sincere i've got no longer touched issues like this for some years now, i'm greater of a differential equations guy :p

i think that shows and explains it well enough for you to understand it well enough to do your own homework ;o)
