Perhaps you could discuss how on Novemeber 28, 2006 the Canadian Parliament has recognized Quebec as a nation within a united Canada.
You could speak about how the everyday lives of Quebecers won't change, but how the symbolic gesture by the Canadian Parliament (specifically Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper) will more than likely go a long way towards easing tensions within Quebec and Canada alike...

Why dont you write on how the political system has changed say in the last 10yrs. You could list the good(if any) and you could list the bad. You could also write about some of the laws that have been passed in the last 5 years and how they have changed everything. I hope this will help you.

One of the top stories here in Ontario is about the government and their spending habits. DO a paper on that........... Children's aid is suppose to put out money to protect the kids yet they are spending money on vacations for themselves in the Caribbean

lol well hmm you might be able to write about the problems or difficulties there are going on right now and how you might be able to solve it include cons and pros and explain your details well so your teacher or whoever is reading it understands your point. remember to add bibliography if the instructor asks for resources
