I have much edema in my legs after a severe trauma & surgery on my tibia to repair. I also have left ventricle heart dysfunction. I might consider to try LASIX to expel excessive water from my tissues. But I fear the dangerous side-effects. I read that Kidney functions can get deranged, frequent testing is needed, and that one must take potassium chloride if taking Lasix. I don't believe that any MDs will divulge the frightful toxicity of this drug. They will prescribe it for me - but I fear what it may do. I reviewed the info on it and it is deadly toxic. I have a clean body with no Rx drugs in my system. I just don't want to get sicker than I am.already.

So please- if you are on Lasix or were on it - inform me what really happened and your side-effects and how well did it eliminate tissue edema? did it make you sick? What is your warning to me.??

I always use natural herbs, and avoid chemical Rx drugs for all my life. Thank you for answering. Please help.

Just not the lasix but every drug has partial side effect one or the other way. Please do not be panic of what has happend because the doctors are meant to prescribe you a medicine with a least harm and maximum benefit. I do not think your doctor had done any mistake in prescribing you lasix.

However as you wanted to be out of the harmful medication , take Natrum sulph 12x powder ( available with any homeo stores) two times a day for a month till the eodema of legs start decreasing, and as soon as it start decreasing, start taking natrum sulph 6x two times a day ......4 tabs each time......till your condition become normal.

Natrum sulph or the sodium sulphate is a tissue remedy that promotes the normal distribution of the water in the body and excretes the excess water from the cells. This is even no more a homeo medicine but biochemic system of medicine. you can add kaliphos 12x 4 tabs everyday night to boost the action of natrum sulph and even to counter act the adverse effects of allopathic drugs including lasix...

You have to decide how bad the swelling is and if you really need to fix it. Lasix can cause problems, and you need to drink enough fluids when you take it, also either take potassium pills or drink orange juice and eat bananas. It's better if you don't have to take it every day. Remember to keep your legs elevated as much as possible.

lots of people take lasix without becoming ill from it, but it is a possibility and you do have to take potassium. have you tried drinking iced tea? black tea (not decaffinated) is a natural diuretic and may help with your swelling. try that first and see if it is helpful.

If you reduce your salt in take by one fourth your edema will subside. Water retention can be eliminated. It depends on how disciplined you are to do this.
