in front of all the stores during the holiday season...? I know it's for charity...but the sound is irritating....am i alone here.?

No, you're not alone. The Salvation Army here is having trouble getting people to do it. It's kind of a thankless task, I should think. You stand there for HOURS and people flip you off and glare at you (I sure do, glare, I mean) and hardly ever put anything in the kettle, and you have to be clanging that cockamamie bell the whole time. I'd go crazy. I quit giving to the Salvation Army after the one in the town I used to live in wouldn't stop their store manager from taking home the donations and having yard sales at her house. That's just not what it's for. Made me so mad, I won't give them anything now.

Yes I do. I dont have much money and I go to the local grocery many times during the week. I cant give everytime I just want to get milk or bread.

I like it. But sometimes, if I already donated they keep ringing the bell at me, THAT'S when I get irritated!

Migraine sufferer here, and not a big fan of bell ringers. You are not alone! May God bless the Bell Ringers, but PLEASE let them be off duty when I shop!

Yes, i hate it...I will not give to them...How do you know where the money is going and if its all going to get there??? My husband and I donate a lot of money to charity, directly to it....Just do not bug me when im shopping....

I hate them. There was one the other day singing off key Christmas carols at the top of his lungs. I feel accosted, not merry.

They always wait until I get real close, then ring that bell loudly in my ears. They get on my last nerve!
