Batsman or say Batting alrounder.
We should not forget his contribution in the past. Once he clicks, the mood of the entire nation would change. If he is out, who is going to chase a huge total. Calm down and wait.

Virendra Shewag was selected in the Indian Team as a Batsman and not as a bowler. Though he is completely out of form of late, he is a destructive batsman capable of demolishing any bowler in the world. He is the only Indian Batsman to score triple century. From 50 Test Matches played by him so far, he has scored 12 centuries. Hence he should not be completely written off based on some poor performance.

Sehwag is a batsman. He is an occasional bowler. You call this a batsman who can bowl a bit. He is normally used when the over rate is a bit slow or when the pace bowlers are getting some stick.

Believe me, I really want to see Sehwag score a double century. That would be one of the most furious double centuries the cricket world will ever experience.

Surely Sehwag was selected in Team India as a batsman. He is a very gud hitter. he can destroy opponents bowling. But its true he is out of form now. He can e selected for an another test. if he fails to get run then he should not stay in team. better if he play in loacl matches more & get his form back before World Cup.

Purely he is a hard hitting batsman. He can thrash opening spells by his powerful drives and flies. Eventhough he's not in a good form now, opponents will shake if he stands for more than 2 overs. And also he can give mental confident to the batsman at other crease, such as Sachin giving now (He's not batting on his own style!)

he was selected as a hard-hitting batsman who can also do a bit of off-spin bowling but his best contribution in Wanderers test has been some good catches, specially the one he took to get Smith out in the 2nd innings ...
