We were a well to do family but due to some major judgement error, we lost all our savings and have taken loans from many people. Although we would be getting some money back but it might take a while. We are having fear and embarresment with the prople we are taking the loans and are worried the other people will talk behind our back and might look at us differently. Please tell me your perpective on this.

So what let them talk. People who have nothing else to do but talk about the short comings of others are very miserable individuals. And careful how one judges another. God has a way of putting into a situation to learn respect and empathy. It will get better for you and your family. Just be patient and strong. Most of us fall upon hard times at some point in our lives. It is not the storm you are going through that counts but how you handle it while you are there and what lessons you learn. God bless****

Well, you should try to pay the people you borrowed from back ASAP. If you don't they will want an explanation.
If the people are close to you, then maybe they will be more understanding and let you set up a payment plan or pay in increments as you get the money.
It is going to be difficult. I am, by no means, good at giving financial advice, but it seems to me that you could sell some of your things to get some money. Just try to pay these people, whatever you do, because you don't want your reputation to suffer.
And be gracious and apologize when you explain that you are having a hard time paying the money back.
It is actually a problem my uncle had once. I dont' know how, but he turned things around and was able to pay money back to people he borrowed from. And he also is once again thriving. I am no financial expert, and he was in business, so he knew what he did wrong and how to get back. Talk to your financial advisor and see what they suggest.
Be truthful with the people you borrowed money from. Don't try to avoid them because that will only make them more suspicious and less likely to trust you.

If they are personal loans from people you know than they will talk behind your back and you will just have to accept that.
If they are loans through a bank, etc. then nobody can get that information so lighten up.
Everyone makes errors in judgement. Don't let it become a habit, and show that you are making efforts to payback money, even if you can't. (in other words, you better not be driving around in a new car if you owe your neighbors money)

Sorry about your situation. Having to take up loans with people can be degrading, especially if you have been leading the upper life. I'd suggest the bank if you can; if not, just swallow your pride and understand that you are only human. Money is not everything.
