I'm pretty sure he has a sensitivity to light, or gets migranes. Did you know he needs special permission from he league to wear it?

I don't know why Tomlinson uses a visor in particular.
Players mainly use visors so defenders can't see their eyes. If you can see where he's looking you can probably tell where he's going. Shaded or mirrored visors aren't legal in the NFL, but the glare even on a clear visor is bright enough to do this. Some players just like to wear a visor because they like their eyes covered, sort of like how people like to wear sunglasses, just to feel more private. Also, he might have a pet peeve about getting stuff in his eyes, like debris, or fingers :)

he does have migraine problems and he has to have medical permission to wear a dark visor. clear ones are perfectly legal. the nfl prefers that players were clear visors so that their eyes can be seen after bad hits to check them out without having to remove their helmet. they also use a visor to prevent from getting their eyes poked i believe.

He has a DR's prescription for it because he is prone to migranes and the visor helps him out a lot.

He has a tendency to get migranes more than other people, and the light increases this tendency, so in order for him to play at his best, he has to wear a visor.

HE gets migrains from the stadium lights. You have to have a doctors perscription to wear a tinted visor in the NFL

It makes him look badass when he lines up and it protects his eyes hes sensitive to light
