The Boys of my Youth by Joann Beard
Great book!! Really great. I'd suggest it to any one really. Very inspiring, short vignettes from her life.
Also White Oleander by Janet Fitch. The movie was good but the book is a million times better.

"The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron.
Even if you don't have a art major or acting aspirations, this book is very inspiring. It talks a lot of the creative process. Although you may or may not make art, living creatively is rather satisfying.
I would recommend it. It's a sort of interactive thing, with suggested activities.
Personally, when I've used it, it has made me realise more strongly my individual purposes and priorities, and also my strengths as a person.

Well...I was recently given the books Jane Austen's guide to Dating and Dating Mr. Darcy because I'm a Jane Austen fan. But these books really teach a woman how to have self respect and pride in themselves.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I LOVE the book "110 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is #37)" by Bernard Goldberg. In fact, it may be a bit inspirational to see how many movie stars and political leaders are just plain stupid and how us "regular joes" are far superior in intelligence than some of them. Anyway, great book and worth reading. Happy holidays!

I always found Count of Montecristo by Alexander Dumas pretty inspiring. It is fiction but you may like it.The author did a great job describing the emotions of the prisoner.Disbelief, denial, self pity, madness, apathy and finally hope.

Anything by Jennifer Wiener. She wrote "Good in Bed", "In Her Shoes", and others. Her books usually have someone who is less than perfect in physical appearance yet ends up realizing her own self worth is more important than her looks.
