We are going to the caribbean and the are 3 formal nights, 2 informal (what does that mean?) and 5 casual. And we will be on it for my 24th birthday and new years. Its for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversery and they want every one together so they are paying for all of us.

Been there and done that. Well, you don't have to go to every formal event. I took a cranberry dress with spaghetti straps, mid calf length for that. I also took a simple black dress ( when in doubt, you can't go wrong there) But I saw a woman there in a very sharp white tuxedo pant suit with a gold tube top , and it was very appropriate and acceptable. As for semi-formal, think Sunday best., swirl skirt with a chic top, maybe with a wrap. Or think pant suit. Most of the time, you will be in casual clothes. Think capri pants and cute tops. I,too, worried about what to pack, but while I wasn't the best dressed there, I wasn't on the Bad Fashion list either. You'll love it !!! It is sooooooo much fun! Oh, here's a note. I was on the Carnival cruise when the guy fell overboard. Talk about mass chaos!!

you'll need a lot of clothes, which is kind of weird. it would be helpful to know where you're going to be cruising. if you're going to the caribbean or somewhere warm, bring some layers because at night it may get cool on deck with the breeze. you will also need swimwear, if you have like a beach coverup or something you could take it. probably some kind of formal outfit if there's a formal night, check your itenary for that. otherwise it's kind of up to you. you need things you will be comfortable and cool in walking around for when you get off the ship. and shoes. if you know what excursions you will do, just bring the shoes for those things. if not, bring some tennis shoes for walking around in case you either a) get adventurous or b) get blisters from other shoes.
other than clothing, just normal travel stuff. sunscreen, toiletries, lots of undies, whatever you would take on any trip. MOST cruises are full of people just wanting to relax and have a good time. and all cruises probably sell almost everything you could forget.

are u going somewhere warm?
if u are definitely bring a bathing suit, shorts and t-shirts
and bring one or two nice formal outfits for dinner
if u are going on an Alaska cruise bring some warm clothes
and some formal outfits for dinner

pack light, one evening dress,two casual wear one swimsuit.one nice dress and few underwears, py or teddies.
