If you have a gas stove, you need to call the gas company. That clicking noise it the ignite trying to light a flame, which also means you are probably leaking gas. Go outside and call the gas company. Good luck!

I think ovens click when they're turning on their heat element (it's not always on full blast when you're cooking). It's normal to click every once in a while when it's on. But if you're oven's not on, then it shouldn't be making any noises. Check to make sure all your knobs are turned all the way off, and if it keeps clicking, unplug it and call a mechanic or the manufacturer or something.

What kind of stove, we need more information, if it is a gas stove, that's not a good sign.

The gas burner plate covers on electric stoves have groves please make sure the grove with the electric flint is lined up and there is no grease making contact with this switch under the lid.

The clicking is the electronic igniter, after it lights turn it to high or what ever setting on the knob you need it will stop.
