Actually you can, and IQ is a fallacious measure of intelligence anyway.
Technically, nobody knows what exactly makes up human intelligence.
These days, it seems that the more pompous an education you get, the better chance of your having a higher IQ..

It is possible to raise your IQ by a few points, or more. You can do this by repeatedly doing problems that are commonly found on IQ tests. However, the increase will not likely be statistically significant and it certainly will not be long lasting. That is, if you stop practicing doing IQ types of problems, your IQ will likely drop back to the level it was at before.

Additionally, even if you do raise your IQ, this doesn't necessarily mean you have increased your "intelligence." Rather, you have simply become better at doing IQ test problems; these new skills will not be transferable to other areas of your life. Unfortunately, this will not make you a faster or better thinker.

My best advice to improve yourself would be to read a lot of books across a range of disciplines, solve logic and crossword puzzles and increase your vocabulary. Do this for the sake of learning not to increase your IQ.

Read a lot, think a lot. Hang out with intelligent people. Practice doing puzzles. Finding a pattern and figuring out analogys are common questions on an IQ test.
The "IQ" is kind of bogus, because it is supposed to reflect a child's mental age. For example, a 10 year old with a mental age of 14 is considered an IQ of 140, because he can do problems like a high school freshman although he is in 5th grade. Or she is.
So the younger you are when you take the test, the better your chances of getting a really high score. For example, if you had a better pre school education. Or if you have educated parents, you can be of a higher mental age than your peers.
Once you are an adult, the IQ is irrelevant, unless you want to brag that you are in Mensa.
The ability to learn new things and a good vocabulary are indicators of intelligence, IMHO.

Read a lot...whatever subjects you might be interested in. Talk to a lot of people...learn how they think. Ask a lot of questions to get a lot of different viewpoints and opinions but don't judge them, keep your mind open to them. Study hard in school. Get interested in the arts, sciences, sports, math. In otherwords...become as well-rounded as you can be! IQ is just a number and it really doesn't mean a whole lot. Learning to think, being interested in the world, and learning how to solve problems and interact with people is more important than knowing a bunch of facts.

Read, read, read, read and read some more. the more you learn the smarter you seem lol. But as someone said ...IQ is relative and the so called tests they give for it are slanted so dont worry too much about it. Get an all round education and you will do fine.

Read "A Brief History Of Time" by Stephen Hawking, and then looking into everything covered in said book.

College works wonders, too.

You can read everything you can get your hands on study things that you normally would not be interested in. Because the things you are interest in are the things you know the most about. Work Math problems that you don't understand until you get the right answer. do thing do improve your memory.
