Is he Flirting?
Well.I went to sign up with a gym, and the trainer was kinda cute, I mean he was decent, and we talked for along time about health, and he made an appointment, and at the end of the conversation, he gave me his cell phone number in case I wanted to reschedule and told me that if I needed help with anything let him know....okay as an update, he called me liek a few days later, to remind me to come in, So I showed up, and we went through some exercises, and I told him that I couldn't really afford a trainer, and he's says he's going to give me sessions until I can, so then he asks me when can I come in and see him again, I said sometime the beggining of January, and he's like well, I'll give you free sessions, can you come in next week, and I was like okay, if it's free, and then he was like well you have me cell phone number..just in case..so do you think he was flirting or doing his job?Honestly? And is it against the law

He could be flirting. But he could be trying to hook you into an expensive gym contract. Be careful.

It is against the norm and unprofessional for Health Club recruiters to trade personal cell phone numbers with potential clients of the gym. It is not against the law. However, he was supposed to contact you through the gym.

He is definitely playing it safe by staying within the guidelines to some degree. I guess he's waiting for you to make the first move then he will act upon that.

If he creeps you out at all it's not worth the free session. I'm sure there's another location that you could try if truly interested.

Good Question!
He just might be a really nice guy, who likes his job and will do anything to get people to keep coming to his gym. And if so, then he is expecting you to start paying a membership sometime soon begining the new year.
On the other hand, yes, he just might be flirting with you. And if so, please just be careful. He just might ask for a favor in return sometime down the road.
Either way, keep fit!

Flirting
Not against the law but the "free sessions" are probably not going to be "free" if ya know what I mean!
Unless he is his own boss, the "free sessions" are probably against the gyms policy.

Come on, flirting is not against the law. i think he is somewhat interested in you or he likes you. Don't put your hopes up though. Some men would play that game until you have to break the news yourself. Read this article about flirting: http://www.relationship-affairs.com/the-art-of-flirting.html

Imagine a world where flirting is against the law....

Although, I think he was flirting, and possibly unethical, I think it's something you can simply ask, "Is this professional or personal?" And when he answers, you can save face by simply saying, "Okay...I wasn't sure what you're intentions were..."

I was a professional trainer for years.
He gets a commission every time you show up.

And even when you come in "for free", it means you have about 20 other friends that will pay...
I made damn good money doing that.

He's got the hots for you. Depending upon his personality and who he is, that may be a good thing or a bad thing. It's your job to figure out the rest.
