I don't want to have to pay for her to go to any "workshops". I am willing to pay but I'm not paying thousands of dollars!

Oh, whatever you do, DONT PUT HER IN MODELING CLASSES! They are nothing but glorified, overpriced etiquette lessons!
Have some professional photos of her taken in a park, playing, feeding ducks, being herself. Many photographers want to expand their portfolios on a TFP (time for print) basis. Set her up on onemodelplace.com and start browising photographers. OMP has a free package for models. It has really helped me launch my own career in modeling, and I recommend it so much. check places like craiglsist.org in your local area under "gigs" every few days or so to see if there are any postings for child models.
Good luck to you!

It's good that your child is photogenic, but please rethink getting her into modeling!
She's 4, and the last thing she needs is a bunch of people she doesn't know bashing her self-esteem down into nothing. It will affect her far into her grownup years, not to mention the rocky teenage years, where the feeling of not being "good enough" can lead to eating disorders and self-loathing.
She's your child, and as such, should not be put on display like a show dog. I know that as her mother, you're going to be making the final judgment call on this, but please think of what might happen in the long run!
If you MUST have her model, then I would suggest the same thing that another person that already posted did; "Use an independent photographer...get pictures of her being herself..."
That is an excellent suggestion, and indie photographers are far less likely to be as harsh and judgemental as the mainstream agencies.

Whatever you do dont pay for those expensive modeling schools. My parents did that for me and my sisters and lost tons of money. I also did the same thing with my daughter thinking it was a legit place. Get your daughter in pageants thats where she will be noticed. If someone thinks she has what it takes then they are the ones that will be willing to pay...not you!!!

You shouldn't have to pay. If an agency really likes her looks they would take her without you paying. Any agency that asks you for money is probably a fraud agency especially if they ask you for a lot. You should probably go to an agency that specializes in kid modeling. If they like her look they will take her.

Research your area. there are usually lots of small agencies that will take someone right on the spot. Where I live we have them all over the place and people from all ages are put in TV commercials, different advertisements and it helps get your foot in the door to bigger things. some places won't charge anything if they can use your child in an ad...but it depends where you live and what is offered there.

my kids the same way. adorable outgoing and extremely photogenic.

i was looking into it, and ford models has their site up where you can submit a picture of your kid and if they like it and thinks there's potential, they'll offer you a contract or something.. cant remember right now, but google ford models and check out their website. it costs nothing to dl a picture, and they are reputable and well known.
