I'm not looking for the common name (though I would appreciate it if you'd include it) I'm looking for things like the scientific name, phylum, class, species, etc

All the links lead to a differant picture, but some are the same insect

*adding details for links*

Without going through all the websites, you first apply your commonsense and increase your power of observation. Let me help you a little bit towards identifying insects. With this you may not be able to reach up to the species level, but it will help you have some footing, and from there you can check up books and connect to people of some natural history museum to help you identify up the species level.
Hereunder are some tips:
See whether it has jointed legs, hard cuticle, compound eyes, antenna, mouth parts, wings and their number, number of legs, anal cerci, division of body into regions.
In case of insects, there are six legs, the body is divided into three regions, wings two pairs, one of them may be very small in size, the eyes are compound, mouth parts may be biting and chewing type, piercing and sucking type, sponging type, lapping type.Note the shape of anal style, if present, and the shape, size, and segments of anal cerci. An examination of these features will enable you to go a long way in determining phylum, class , and order.

Wow, they are tremendously! i do no longer understand lots approximately pest administration, yet with a bit of luck those men are palatable to birds. you would be able to evaluate installation a chicken feeder to attraction to a pair passerines on your backyard. If the birds like those bugs, they would be long gone fairly quickly.
