Apparently it is easy to find people by using public domain records,but I don`t know where or which records I can access, and I`ve just started using a p.c.

It all depends on what info. you have that is valid.

something down that line created previously 1923 is public area Symphony No. 9 became performed in 1824. THe recording you have is from 1951 you need to use the symphony yet no longer the recording of it which you have except the guy who holds/held the copyright did no longer renew it. Recordings between 1923 and 1964 have a 28 3 hundred and sixty 5 days copyright, the owner can renew for one extra sixty seven years, yet whilst they fail to resume, then it is going to public area. Recorded in 1951, the 28 3 hundred and sixty 5 days rule could have been up in 1979, which brings up the question 'Did they renew the copyright?'
