I guess it does for some people. I really feel bad for the askers whose valid questions receive very rude replies. I like to believe that people who dish out mean answers just for the heck of it are probably cowards outside the Y! Answers forum. You know what I noticed too, most of those who complain about questions are not very good at making their own questions. Huh!

For the most part, it does make me feel good to think that just maybe, something I know may be able to help someone else out. Of course, there have been a few rude questions that got to me, and I know for a fact that when I give my answers to them, it's not helping, because they're usually not really looking for an honest answer ( I know I should pass these up, because I only get more irritated, but it's hard to let it go sometimes). It doesn't make me feel wiser, because I know I'm only offering my opinion most times. It definitely doesn't make me feel more cool, because I'm 29, and in my opinion I'm too old to really be considered cool! It does make me feel better to know that I might be helping someone, and I guess that's all that really matters.

I make an effort to answer the questions without being mean. I realize sometimes the perception is that if one doesn't agree with the questioner, they're being mean. If you explain something to someone who is wrong, in today's world, you're messing up their 'self-esteem'. Unfortunately, if someone is never told they're wrong, they won't know - until it's important, and they find out the hard way.

Doesn't make me feel that way. But, i have noticed some people being really mean who think they very funny, which they are not. But, a lot of them actually get a lot of thumbs ups. I don't understand this world at all!

Only if the question is phrased in an uninteligent manner or if the asker and I have previous beef. Then it's fun.

For me yes--when someone asks a question that is barely intelligible, mean to begin with, "shouts" their question, or asks in a rambling and confusing way.

I don't get real mean, but I do make it clear that no one can help them, wants to help bc teh question sucks in some way.

People are just bitter.. Leave them be if it makes them feel better. They have to get it out of them some how.
