I've looked everywhere and there is nothing, but I thought I'd try here......i believe it's a type of plexiglass or something, whatever big screens are made off.

it is the protective/uv coating it seems and my daughter scratched it with a pen or something, it's worth the try taking the screen to the autoglass shop....it seens as if nothing can be done, but I have some hope now...

Generally I would blow off this question, but considering the cost of the TV, I'll enter my opinion. I assume it is projection b/c you say 'plexiglass'. The screen can be replaced at a minimal cost, providing you can find someone willing to take on the endeavor. If it is not a plastic-type screen, then it is a protective and uv coating on the glass/other material. If this is the case, you can actuallly take it to an auto detail shop that does window tinting. Trust me, they will know exactly what to do and will probably go, "WOW! We can start offering this service!" It is really simple if it is just the coating on glass (or a similar substance). You can remove the 'old' surface with very warm water and soap. DO NOT use abrasive materials.
Sorry, the more I think of this, I really don't have enough info to tell ya much. If you can offer more, I'll try to re-answer.
Good Luck!
