if you stay off the roof, and there are no stress cracks, AND the new work is done properly, you should get no less than 30 years.

what is good weather. does it get cold, wet and sunny? i am not trying to be funny. retarring means they overcoated a previous roof and why was it done? tar when set up is not very flexible for any kind of weather. usually it drys and cracks which means leaks. what u need is a coat material, shingle, roll roofing or membrane for your climatic area. i not sure how any roofer can give a warranty with a tar roof. the constant maintenance is a headache.
