I want to give every little 3 year old in my daughters preschool an inexpensive gift for christmas any ideas?

Once in high school I had the opportunity to be a student assistant to a Kindergarten class during a class period where I had nothing to do. There were about 15 kids in the class, but I wanted to do something special for them. I went to Walmart and bought kids sized white tee-shirts, and I also bought some paints and stuff. I personalized each shirt with their names and little drawings and stuff. Ten years later one of those children, whose mother I just happened to know when I was a little girl, called me and told me when he was in high school that he volunteered to work as an assistant for a teacher during one of his open classes as I did. It cost me not much but a little time, and I made a difference in someone's life.

Having said that, I know you probably don't even have the time to think about such a project - so maybe take the last day they are in school together to come into your childs class and have some "creative" time and help them make something for their parents or something. Popsicle sticks, magic markers and glue are a beautiful thing!!!

Crayola makes these bath fizzlers that turn the water different colors. They come 12 to a pack and are $1 each. Put them in a cellophane bag tied with ribbon and you're a hit! or a white paper bag with a Christmas design on it... I usually do the bath fizzies with a rubber duck and its a huge hit... BTW, you can get a pack of 3 rubber ducks for a $1 at Target...

My sister in law is a preschool teacher, and she once bought a whole heap of plain coloured christmas bulbs and decorated them with the kids names. It is something that they can put on their tree at home and keep for years to come. The kids, and their parents, all loved it.

You could type into Google, free coloring pages, or free coloring book pages, print the pictures down, put a nice picture on the cover, put hole punches down the side, tied with pretty ribbon and go to the Dollar Store purchase some crayons and pass those out.

Or go get some regular plain Christmas bulbs, and some glitter. Take some Elmer's glue and write the childs name in glue on the bulb, then sprinkle with the glitter, let dry. Then they have something to hang from their tree with their name on it.

Go to the dollar store. They have little inexpensive gifts there. When my granddaughter needs things for daycare and or preschool thats where we go. You can't beat the prices. Good luck.

In this hyper-sensitive age, I'd shy away from giving them all candy in fear of some parent telling you their kid has allergies or doesn't eat junk food or will choke on whatever you gave them. . .

Target has multi-packs of mini Play-Doh containers. They also have Play-Doh ornaments (round containers filled with Play-Doh), but those are about $1 each and they didn't have too many of them at my Target. That might be cute. You can print out mini labels that say "From ___ " Even large containers of Play-Doh are only about 3 for $2. Break them up and give each child a container.

You could also buy a few boxes of crayons and give each child 3 or four crayons (tie them together with ribbon). Then, go online and search for "Christmas coloring pages" or "holiday coloring pages." Print a few out for each child and make a "coloring book." (Or, go to Staples and have copies made.)

Make a goodie bag for each child. Buy some of those cellophane gift bags. Buy a roll of stickers. Put a few stickers in each bag, along with 1 or 2 pieces of candy (as opposed to a whole gift of candy), a magic marker (buy a whole pack and give one to each child), a mini container of Play-Doh, and a few character Band-Aids.

Or, burn a CD of favorite family songs, Christmas or otherwise. Make copies for everyone in the class, and have your daughter draw a cover that you can photocopy and put in the CD case.

Little ones love little balloons-just go to a party store. Get regular size balloons. Either blow up yourself or see if they will for cheap.tie to slender dowel with twine or ribbon. Write their names on with a Sharpie nice & big (you can even do this there!)
Sick all the balloons in an old vase to carry them in & they'll have a ball!

Give them each a Christmas Card. It's cheap, but you can get your daughter to help decorate them.
