I think that even statusless immigrant Mexicans get better respect from the whites there.

It is true I see it. I am white and have more family Mexican and African American than actual white. I see more racism towards black people in my area than Hispanic. Which is still sick and I will bet it is the same people that are on here saying immigrants don't belong!! Well that is why I say lets fill a boat with these racist people and ship them out.

You are assuming black Americans can't make decisions themselves. Your question is a source for racial division.

Yes, black people have been abused. The method of arrival to America for most black ancestry is a disgrace on this country's history, no doubt. But if you assume the predominate attitude is still one of racism, you are badly mistaken. Sure, there are still some back water idiots out there, and I don't just mean "white trash", but also people in positions of power, but the average American could care less about race.

Today it is more like Martin Luther King, Jr's dream.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Many people, black, white, and every ethnicity, have fought to turn this country into a haven for racial diversity and equality. Of course, black Americans can be proud to be American.

Well I can see where you're coming from here.

The point being that the USA was still carrying out segregation while we had aboloshied years many years before. It was only until the 60's that things in the US seemed to change.

Therefore I can understand that it seems a bit strange that blacks should stick up for the US so much when it was only really recently that things changed.

Apart from in the Deep South I think most of America is now 100% equal rights etc etc...

Nice nickname, stupid! Like the french revolution was a good thing. Take your somewhat educated *** to the library, and stop complaining and being racist.

I like how white people, or whatever their race, patronize blacks or "feel for them". Those of you like that are bigger racists than those you call racist. We've got problems here, and so does every country. We've had slavery, and so has almost every other country. We have th oppressed, and so do other countries. Who ever posted this needs an anti-depressant or think about how bad all of us could have it elswhere, say in Rwanda, Latin America, etc. Yeah, we got problems, but things could be a lot worse. Anyway, there is nothing worse than patronizing another group of people when you aren't one of them.

You must very racist. I say that because from your question it appears that you are very judgemental about races, even though you compare Black (race) with Mexican (nationality). You are just judgemental eitherway you look at it. You must be treated pretty well, as you have the ability to look down upon others and decide that they are being treated in an inferior manner to the way you are treated. I am not anything special. Not highly educated, not financially "well" off. so I would have to say that blacks in America are treated the same as me, and I am treated the same as them. It's all in the point of view. You look down, I look to my side. And what I see is people from all races living in a mostly equal environment. Sure, there are some people who have a little more money, drive a nicer car, but, we all drive on the same roads, shop in the same stores. There really is not much of a difference.

You walked into this one with your eyes wide open mate !. You know as well as i do that Americans are so brainwashed by the flag ,that any criticism of their "great and wonderful country " will have them up in arms like some crazed lynch mob.You can`t blame them, the American government and the religious bible bashers control their thinking from their first thoughts when they are toddlers, those stars and stripes are always in their face .Look at it this way without intending to these lot here have answered you question .There are only the enlightened few there that are still able to think for themselves at all.I`ve said this before they`ve been turned into Stepford wives .

I'll bet you don't even know how blacks are treated in the U.S.

You want all blacks to recite some kind of party line in which they all claim, in unison, that they don't get enough respect from most white people.

If they actually felt that way, race relations would still be as bad today as they were 40 years ago.

They have a right to be proud of their country and they have a share in the positive legacy. Probably most strongly believe in the values, even if most are frustrated with the implementation.

I don't think you have the right to tell somebody not to praise his country but feel free instead to ask him why he's proud and what his concerns are. Don't presume too much.

Also, if you think american blacks dont know how badly they are treated, you've probably never been to the US or even watched US media. Watch Living Color sometime!!! Rent the DVD.

Fifty years ago some southern states did treat them poorly, no defense possible, but ther eare 50 states in the Union, and since that time things have changed, sometimes to such an extreme it produces an extremist counter effect we aren't proud of either, but most of teh people believe in equality of all people, and that it's what you choose to do with your life that counts. They don't have to praise their country, they can say bad things if they like, and unlike many other countries in the world they won't get killed for it. yes there are unfortunante incidents, not having been in the situation I don't know what went on, but hanging out with people the police are after has never been healthy no matter what time in history or country you are in.

1. Who cares what you think?
2. Who cares what you would do?
3. You're not a "black American", so I think that you have no right to judge anyone.
4. America is much more open and diverse than any European country (I point to your beloved soccer for proof of that). We would not "proudly" shout degrading racial remarks at an athlete on a sports team without risk the penalty of getting our @$$ kicked - as it should be if someone does that! I have seen it done in Europe. Someone needs to kick your judgmental @$$.
