Because women ovulate and we can't just be like a gumball machine that decides to pop out an egg into our oviduct to conceive. Its more natural that way. Unfortunately if no fertilization happens, the ova is still there and can't go back where it came from. It sucks that guys don't have to have bloating times once a month. I know what you mean though. I wish we didn't have to...bye bye OC pills! I dunno...men don't have to give birth and women have to painfully give birth and have those chocolate craving emotional hormonal fluctuations.

Sounds like you are frustrated. Get used to the idea or get on that birth control pill that allows you to have your period 4 times a year.

The lining of our uterus is called the endometrial lining. If you get pregnant, that lining is what the egg attaches to and where it gets its nutrients from. It builds up throughout the month, and if you don't get pregnant, it sheds. That's why we get our period. It sheds each month that we don't get pregnant so we can build up a new one.

ugh, i ask the same question. And now that I am finished having my kids I see absolutely no reason at all for them to continue. they are messy, inconvenient, and they get in the way of a fun time! grrrrr

Girl, I agree! We get everything. Boobs that grow and guys constantly make comments about, periods, period pain, zits around hormonal times, mood swings, remarks by guys about our mood swings even if totally unrelated, pregnancy - sore back, swollen feet, large tummy, giving birth, stretch marks from giving birth, baby's sucking on boobs, men complaining about sagginess of boobs, menopause! seriously!!!! All men have to worry about, is trying to conceal there parts wen they get aroused in public! it just aint fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
