If you are forcing rhymes yes it is hard to write a poem. Edgar A. Poe says that a good poem is one that you can write in one sitting if you get up and walk away one you lose your train of thought and the underlying meaning is if you can't even sit down to write it then no one can sit through reading it. He also said writing is 90% perspiration 10% inspiration. One good tip Start writing. Find something you want to write about write down five things that describe what you want to write about then start the poem, if you don't like what you have written edit it if you still don't like it toss it and start over. Good Luck.

It isnt hard to write a poem
As long as you can feel it
It takes a while to put to words
as lemons take to peel it

To start a poem just search your mind
And write just what you feel
You'll find the words come naturally
and seem so very real

So closing here I'd like to say
I'm sure you can devise
a poem that sings to all who read
an obvious surprise

(I just wrote that off the top of my head)

it all depends what you want to write about and how motivated you are. currently, i'm doing a poetry project and english and i can't tell this in a more simpler way: poetry is a form of art. Whatever you write is your own words; your own opinion. Your poem isn't going to be marked right or wrong, it's your own literature.

Depends.

I write songs for a band I'm in.

Sometimes they come really easy, sometimes I get one or two lines and have to put it away, even the ones that come easy I review months later before they go public.

I write alot of poetry and it just comes to me think in the moment your in and put it together they dont even have to rhyme. here is something small you might like
writing is the gateway,
into a past present or futuristic day,
the words come from you,
but may help someone else through!
Good luck just let your thoughts flow,
and when its done you'll know!!!!!

Writing a poem
Pose no problem.
Let your feelings go
Pen them as they flow.
It's that easy
No poems are lousy
For I'm no judge of what you write
As that's what you felt inside.

Roses aren't purple
And violets aren't green
But some poems let people
Vent their spleen

I am a published poet and I don't think that it's hard, but my friend, he doesn't like writing, and he said it was one of the hardest things he had ever done.

making a good one is hard, though. i haven't figured out how to make them good yet.
