Culturing bacteria is always fun! You can order some agar off the internet or ask your science teacher where to get it then go around and swab stuff in your house... like your mom's hands, the dog's mouth, the reciever on the phone, the bottom of your shoe... and see what grows. It is really amazing to see what you will find!

I'm guessing by the gross simplicity of your question (come on even my baby niece can weave more than 2 words together!) that you need ideas for a science fair project.

First off consider, stuff you like doing, and see if you can think of a way to improve or prove something about that in particular.

Ex. Like skate boarding? how does the wheel material effect the velocity of the skater?

Or you can go to sciencebuddies.org

and go to their topic selection wizard. It'll give you a small test on your likes and dislikes and from those results show you several projects that you might like.

Building a terrarium is an easy one. Get an aquarium and put a few inches of dirt in it. Plant some green plants and add an animal - like a turtle or small lizard or something. Then seal the top with plastic wrap. The lizard will consume the oxygen from the plants and the plants will absorb the CO2 from the lizard (or whatever you use). Worked for me. Good Luck!

If you want to have some fun with it, use forensics to show how you got away with some random crime. I got an A on mine.
