Drive around and look at Christmas lights with your boyfriend. Just be thankful for the good things you do have in your life like your kids, your boyfriend a roof over your head. Remember the true meaning of Christmas. Give a dollar or two whatever you can spare to the Ringing Salvation Army Bell. Watch Christmas specials on tv. Trim a tree with your boyfriend. Enjoy your time off from work. Go to a church mass. Sing Christmas Carols..... I hope you have a Merry Christmas, anyways.=)

Sometimes in life you just can't make everything around you perfect. To be able to make other happy you must be happy yourself. I think having only your boyfriend around is the perfect time for you to discover a lot other things within you. Don't worry about kids and family. You guys should have fun, go out on a date, go shopping together, go see Christmas lights, drink hot chocolate together ...have him giving you a massage :) ...anything. Just worry free for awhile... have Christmas together... Christmas spirit is all about family and how much you care for them, but knowing that your family is away and having a lot of fun...you should be happy, and have your own fun. So when they are back..you can tell them all about it :) Wish you a merry Christmas :)

Try to think of the blessings in your life. Your children (though out of town for the big day), there are plenty of folks who wish they could have children. You can always celebrate Christmas with your children when they return.
Christmas isn't about the money spent, but instead about the memories you made yesterday and today and hold dear to your heart tomorrow. I am sure there are some precious and dear memories you have of better times, try to focus on those moments, and remember the reason for the season...for me that is enough to keep me in the Christmas spirit.
God Bless and Take Care.

Real Christmas is NOT about $$ (unless you are a retailer) , you have a boyfriend to go around and check out the sites with and you are whining ? You have time to help with local kids who don't have anything but you are hanging out sniveling ?
Give me a break , grow up or maybe the bf will get a clue and get gone too.
Boy, then it will fun huh ?

You know, i couldn't afford anything this year and i don't expect any presents at all. I am just happy to have my friends here. My family lives in colorado, so they are my family right now. You two being together should be enough. Take care and merry christmas.

Google search: tree plant charity
Plant a tree in Jerusalem, or somewhere which has significance for you (the cliche one I've always heard about is Jerusalem). This is, of course, a symbolic donation--it's about what it costs to plant a tree, but that's because they buy the trees in lots of 2 gazillion or so.
Then go to a Christmas-tree lot and get a tree. If a tree isn't in your budget, see if they will sell you branches to get the pine smell going in your home.

Keep in mind that there are homeless kids who will get nothing but cold under a bridge.
