From my understanding of psychology, the traditional men and women used to be as follows:
Men were more physical and bonded based on activities; whereas; women were more emotional and based bonding relationships on feelings.
Men are form Mars/women are from Venus.
However, today, the equation has become more of a mixture of the two.
From a traditional perspective, guys like war games, violence, and sports that generate what I like to define as "one man upmanship" between other guys- when one guy does something, another guy will try to compete by trying to outdo the other guys like a physical competition. And, then they'lle go for a beer afterwards regardless of who wins to celebrate.
Whereas, women will generally try to form networks and bonds with other women through verbal communication and sharing feelings- trying to share their experiences with other women to increase the size of their networks- except for when it involves fighting over a man.
Now, we see both sexes on either side of the equation so it really depends on your background and politics.
That's just my theory. Hopefully it helps you out.
