'Those were the days', ...try to get some Cream's good and ancient music, Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton, as a power Jam Jazz Blues trio, they 're my main influence when was begginin' to play almost 25 years ago but right now follow wise Squatch's view, and while returnin' late at night and' lone by walking, listen too your rhythm steps and the sounds which are still floating tru your head, so you can create your own bass groove...

If this will help you any, I play guitar and bass, sometimes I figure out music with my bass, and sometimes with my guitar, and this keeps it from getting stuffy or monotonous, they compliment each other, and as I listen to the music, I listen to what the guitar player is doing, and sometimes I listen to what the bass player is doing and it keeps me motivated !! And here lately I've even started picking on a keyboard, and it refreshes my outlook and interest in music because I listen to what the keyboard player is doing !!

don't worry about it. You shouldn't have to motivate yourself:
just listen to music, and when you hear a line you like, you find yourself thinking "man, I wish I could play that" and you sit down and figure it out. Or, try and get together with somebody, or a recording to jam. Getting into the groove of a song, especially with a group is the ultimate rush.

when i was first learning, i made a game of practicing. i would listen to and try toplay along with music until i learned the song. i noted how long it took me to get it down pat, then tried it with another song, but i tried to do it faster and more efficiently: i listened more closely and tried to play it more accurately. eventually i developed a good ear for the notes and learned to guess where the chord progression was going.
