Ok... I mean, if the First Ammendment would have protected Karl Marx, or the people reading or talking about his Das Kapital?... better now?

On Freedom of the Press, by Karl Marx

"Whenever one form of freedom is rejected, freedom in general is rejected and henceforth can have only a semblance of existence, since the sphere in which absence of freedom is dominant becomes a matter of pure chance. Absence of freedom is the rule and freedom an exception, a fortuitous and arbitrary occurrence. There can, therefore, be nothing wronger than to think that when it is a question of a particular form of existence of freedom, it is a particular question. It is the general question within a particular sphere. Freedom remains freedom whether it finds expression in printer's ink, in property, in the conscience, or in a political assembly."

The First Amendment should protect those reading and commenting on Das Kapital. Your added comment about would it protect them better now. The Amendment still offers the same protection, but with many people bent on political correctness, they are probably trampling your rights to do so.

There is nothing wrong with Das Kapital. It is a book and an idea. So you want book banning?

Of course, the whole purpose is to protect ideas with which the majority disagrees; if we all agreed, it wouldn't need protecting, right? Pretty basic concept there.

It says "Freedom of Speech", not "Freedom of Correct Speech", or "Freedom of American Speech". Voltaire once said, "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." It took a Frenchman to tuly define freedom of speech.
