Unless you have alot of friends or family using Verizon I would choose another Pre-Paid service because Verizon Charges you a dollar on top of your minutes you use for every day you make a call. That can add up to 30.00 a month if you use it every day. They have In-Calling so if your friends and family use it the calls wont use any minutes so that can be a plus if you do. Otherwise its not worth it. Plus the phones are typically more expensive than other pre-paid services. At the store I work at the cheapest Verizon pre-paid was 50.00 where with others you can go as low as 15.00 mind you that that is just a phone with almost no features.
