My boyfriend is interested in reading the Civil War series and I recently went to Midtown Comics to pick a book out for his Christmas gift. He hasn't read any of them yet, and I would like to get him the first. The ones I saw there were actual bound books, and weren't numbered. Any tips?

Start with Civil War #1 but also pick up Civil War: Front Line. As of right now there are 5 issues of Civil War and 9 issues for Front Line. If you want to pick up the tie-ins as well still with Major characters, specifically Spiderman (in Amazing Spiderman, don't worry because all the tie-ins are marked on the cover) and Fantastic Four. Trust me your boyfriend will LOVE that gift. Good luck.

Personally, I don’t, because I hate political crap mixed up in my comics. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to offend, but I want to warn you, if your friend isn’t into politics, don’t bother to get him Civil War. It is just like a lot of today’s headlines, thinly disguised. There are other, better series that I’m sure he will be pleased with.
