one possible solution is:

w = 5, x = 9, y = 2

so w+x+y = 16

Unless you also restrict w, x, and y to be integers, you have 1 equation with 3 variables and so an infinite number of solutions.

If you have three variables, you need at least three equations to solve for them, unless you restrict the values for w,x, and y.
