You can either scrape the wax off gently with a box cutter blade, or, you an iron; take a piece of cloth and put over the waxy area, then take a iron and put it over the cloth. The wax should melt off onto the cloth.

Depending on the type of wax, dishwashing soap in warm water usually will cut thru the wax. Be careful where you splash the soapy water, because it will mark the paint if you don't wipe it dry instanly. Some cars have lacquer paint, some have enamel, some have a blend of paints. Try to find an obsure place to use as a test panel for the strong soapy solution. You can also try some variety of liquid polishes, just don't use abrasive, or harsh compounds.

Ammonia cuts wax... thats what they use to strip wax off floors. Try a little on a cloth and wipe the door handle. You could even scrub it a little with an old toothbrush.... just don't let it drip on the paint....it'll remove the wax from the paint and make it look streaked.

ok, first of all i would recommend 3 things. 1, just use dish washing liquid directly on your waxed plastic (don't dilute the liquid). 2, wash it with car wash shampoo, wipe dry. 3, apply Meguires Trim Detailer to the handle. I'm driving a Ford Focus Sedan and i had this problem also, now all my plastics accessories looks like new (of course have minor scratches). Try this, see how it goes.

They make some stuff that comes in a spray can that is made for removing wax, gum... from any surface, it freezes it and the stuff just pops off. Wal-Mart is one of MANY stores that sell it,in some stores it will be located in the carpet cleaning section and in others, the automotive section. sorry I can't remember the name, maybe freeze off ?
Heating it up then wiping will only spread it, eventually so thin that it gives the appearance of being gone.
I found the can of another brand; it's called OOPS! manufactured by Homax www.homaxproducts.com.
I hope this helps

Take some paper towels and an iron. Sandwich the section between the paper towels and iron it. The paper towels will take up the wax. pass the towels around and alter to new ones. After attempt some rubbing alcohol and an previous toothbrush to get something out

Don't know if this will work with wax, but it works great on sap, road gum, tar, etc. I rub the spot with olive oil or Murphy's Oil Soap, let it sit ten minutes, then wipe it off with a clean rag. Takes off most things in one shot.

I would try placing a paper towel on the handle and using a blow dryer to melt the wax... the paper towel would absorb the melting wax.
