not always true. i got preg. with my daughter immedietly over 4 1/2 years ago, and my husband and i have been trying for the past 3 and just finally got preg. again. we have both been tested for fertility problems too. so sometimes it doesn't mean you will have another child again.

Yes it is possible to be more fertile after you have a baby, but I have heard that it is within the first few weeks of delivering but that is just from what I have heard. As for the whole ovulation thing it isn't always true that you ovulate 14-16 days after the first day of your last period, ovulation changes from month to month and if you aren't fully aware of your ovulation cycles then it is really hard to tell when you are ovulating besides the obvious cervical mucus and the position of your cervix. The standard saying that you ovulate 14 days before your next period or 14 days after your last period is not so much true. If you are starting regular periods again and don't wish to have another baby so soon then I would suggest that you get on some kind of birth control. Best of luck to you.

My babe is 5 months too. You started your period already?? I hope mine stays away for a while longer.
I only have one so far so I can't say from experience but my friends all seems to get pregnant a lot faster the 2nd & 3rd time around. If you are getting your period, you are ovulating so start up the birth control unless you want another!! You ovulate about 14 days after the start of your period, so the 15th would be a fertile day for you.
Good luck

Breast feeding can reduce your fertility. In some third world countries woman actually breast feed for longer periods of time just to keep from getting pregnant. But it is not 100%. You can still get pregnant even if you are breast feeding. If you don't want to get pregnant you should track your cycles and be extra careful during your most fertile times. There are several websites that will help you to figure out when you are most likely to ovulate. mymonthlycycle.com is one.

Yes, it is true. You are the most fertile 14-16 days after the 1st day of your period. I don't think it matters if you have been pregnant before or not.

im no expert but, usually your most fertile time will be between 21/2- 3wks after your beginning of your last cycle. any time u wonder about pregnancy a doc will ask how long has it been since your last period started. always keep that in mind.

You are VERY fertile after having a baby, be careful if you do not want another right away.
(I had gotten pregnant again when my daughter was 6 months old!)

i'm 19 weeks and that i merely went to the ER very last evening because my toddler hadn't moved considering that Thursday both. They did an casual ultrasound (they merely wheeled in a small ultrasound gadget, no longer a large fancy one) and they appeared at my daughter and her coronary heart cost develop into completely universal and robust, and she or he develop into kicking away in my tummy yet i could not experience her! The known practitioner reassured me that toddler's have sleepy days at this degree and infrequently they're many times transferring all round yet you merely can't experience them because there remains a large number of room in there. I felt somewhat stupid for nerve-racking a lot and my daughter being so healthy and she or he's kicking all day in the present day in spite of the undeniable fact that it rather positioned my ideas comfortable. i did not opt for to attend til this thursday which develop into the in effortless words time i ought to flow to my known practitioner. You & your sister could flow to the ER in case you rather opt for re-insurance they're going to maximum in all likelihood provide you with a casual ultrasound. sturdy success!
