Does anyone know what the legal age for children in the state of Florida that they can choose which parent to live with?

18 is when the child gets to choose. Until then the judge chooses. Normally at around 12-14 the judge will take the child’s wishes into consideration, but they take other things into consideration too, and they do not have to abide by the child’s wishes.

18 is not a national standard. You have to look at each state's laws because I think 14 is the age in Illinois. 18 is the national standard for being legal and able to vote. Just search the internet for the Florida Revised Statutes. It should bring up a site for them, then you have to search that site for the specific law.

The law for the state of Washington is 12 years old for a miner to choose between parents. Every state is different. You might want to check into that.

In most states it is 12-14. I know a few years can make a big difference when custody is involved, but that is usually standard. I think that it also depends upon the maturity of the child and their perceived ability to make such an important decision.
