I need help with the xbox live. Im choosing the wired direct connection. Where and what are you suppose to plug the telephone plug into or from.

i have a sbv5120 surfboard cable modem motorola. and if you can can you add any extra information that i didnt invlove in my question

You plug the cat5 ethernet cable(not telephone cable) into the ethernet port on the back of the xbox (the ethernet port looks like a telephone jack only bigger) After that you should be all set. If your still having problems refer to the user manual that came with your console

you don't use a telephone plug. you need to connect it to a ethernet router.
