I would suggest corridor at KL which u do not need any budget for it and sure you both can have an adventures and romantic night there.

Try Corus Hotel in Jalan Ampang near by KLCC, tallest Twin Tower - Petronas Twin Towers. You can enjoy the shopping there and take pictures on this signature land mark. Corus Hotel (formerly Ming Court Hotel) is a 4 star hotel but price is affrodable. If you want luxury hotel , try Mandarin Oriental Hotel, located next to KLCC.

KLCC is a short distance to Sg. Wang, Lot 10 and BIntang Walk - where KL night life comes into action. Probably about 10 -15 minutes walk depending on your walking speed and knowledge of the whereabouts though.

If you want budget Hotel - try Melia Hotel , I think it is 3 star , it is few blocks away from Jalan Bukit Bintang but opposite Berjaya Times Square .

If you like nature, then KL might not be the choice. KL is city. Try Taman Negara (National Park) located East Coast of Malaysia. Wildlife observation and rain forest are some of the attractions. I have recently recommended a couple from UK to go to FRIM (Forest Research Institute of Malaysia) in Kepong, KL. Nice outing though it is much smaller than Taman Negara.

You may want to go to Sepilok Orang Utan Santuary in Sabah state. Another kind of nature experience.

Island getaways would be Pulau Redang, Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Tioman. Diving would be Pulau Sipadan.

Happy Travelling.

Superior room in budget hotel... I think the Swiss-Garden in Jalan Pudu (pls avoid the Chinatown Swiss-Garden Inn) would do nicely as it is a short walk to the Orchard Rd of Kuala Lumpur - Jalan Bukit Bintang - more than 10,000 retail outlets at your feet. Where to find?

If I have to choose from your 2 alternatives, for me it's better Swissinn.
