Have you ever played this game and found yourself able to lift a person up so high using only your fingertips? Or better yet, were you the one being lifted? What was it like? Were you aware/frightened of what was happening to you? And those lifting the person, was the person really unbelievabley light? How does this work?

Hell yes it works. I used to do it all of the time from the age of 8-17. I was always the story teller (the head) and the person really has no weight at all...my friends and I lifted my Dad once and there were only 4 little girls. 1 at head, 1 feet, 1 on each side of waist.

The trick is being a good story teller, if you've never done it read on;
The head person (me) starts out with "it was a dark and stormy night", then everyone repeats that individually until it comes back to the head.
then; it was cold, and the road was icy"...keep going with that and keep it simple, until the climax "and when they found her" (around the circle)
"she was as stiff as a board" (around the circle)
"and as light as a feather" (around the circle)
repeat the last two sentences around the circle 3 times, and the 4th time, you run both sentences together.

When the entire circle is chanting it alot, begin raising.

As the youngest child, light as a feather, stiff as a bored wasnt my thing. Mainly because i was always the one lifted. Yes indeed with three older sisters. I was able to be lifted. Although the catch to that is to see if when your fingers are removed that the person lying on the ground should be able to levitate. SORRY IT DOESNT WORK. I fell many times to the ground playing that. Not fun if you ask me.

The being lifted part works, the levitation part didn't work out so well. It was always a lot of fun. It ends with bruises and uncontrollable laughter. Great for slumber parties.

i remember playing this game at camp when i was a kid. it really did work...i don't know how but i remember it working. i have been the one lifted too...i remember it was really scary at the time, like i was floating...only it was really exciting too because it was really working. We would do it late at night, with 10 or so girls gathered around a bed with one laying on the bed.
