Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan & Israel do NOT want to get involved in a Long Bloody civil war in Iraq. Not only will the Iraqi Shia destroy the insurgents but they will be killing all the Sunni Al Qaeda terrorists in their country (thus winning the war on terror in Iraq) and even if democary fails in Iraq is it really worth keeping a lot of US troops in Iraq & the always chaotic Mideast for the next 50 years just so Israel can sleep a little better?

1) The democratically elected Iraqi Shia don't want US troops in their country anymore and if US gets out now they will be forever grateful for the US getting rid of Saddam which means they will most likely be a US ally once they are allowed to win the civil war in Iraq.

US creditbility it the world will go up because the US won't look like imperialists anymore.

Israel has it's own very good Army and they have their OWN NUCLEAR WEAPONS so they can do fine defending themselves and stop having the US military do it for them.

We destroyed the country's infrastructure and murdered more than six hundred thousand of its people (and tortured and raped thousands more).

Al Quaeda is not a major player in Iraq, BTW, nor is the Iraqi AQ at all affiliated with Bin Laden.

The reason Bush won't leave is not for the sake of Israel, but because he's a brainless heartless freak who can't admit that he was wrong, and he thinks he can still win, and so will be considered a Great president.

Who cares about the citizens of Iraq?

Human beings do.

You, apparently, do not.

in case you think of which you fairly frankly very ignorant. Iraq is in this adverse state by using fact we invaded it for no reason. Now we cant placed a suited government. in place, so hence all sections are scuffling with for capacity. there is not any question of "if iraq is going to civil conflict', it particularly is Already in a civil conflict. And it doesnt influence u.s.? specific it does, we are in the midst of their civil conflict, that WE created and now we are enjoying the toddler sitter and attempting to maintain the peace with the fee of our squaddies. dropping our squaddies does influence us. If we pull out, it wont stay a civil conflict. Saudis and different will help the Shia, Iran will help Sunnis and the area is gonna grow to be a multi national combat for territory. And it may all be blamed on who? the USA. It became stupid human beings to circulate in the 1st place withouit having a suited go out approach and now we are caught there like idiots attempting to do damge administration.

Do you realize that the Shias in Iran have declared that they want to wipe Israle of the map? Also, Lebannon and most recently the events in Gaza should show you just how easy it is for religious factions to go to war in that region.

The war on terror would not be won by allowing one religous faction to destroy another. In fact throughout the history of the region nations have gone to war based on little more than differences of opinion on religion (Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s ring a bell).

Yes, it is worth keeping U.S. troops on the ground there and I speak as one of those troops. Israel is not the top concern, rather if that region explodes into violence global oil markets grind to a halt, energy costs skyrocket, and whatever job you have would either dissappear or 80% of your work hours would go toward paying to put gas in your car if you could find it (Oil embargo of the 1970's... look it up).

The real problem is not as much a possible cicil war (though that is a problem) as whether it woiuld allow terrorits to have an even greater haven and freedom of action than if we'd never invaded in the first place.

By the way, the reason we do care about a civil war is that it would undermine US credibility, since one of our stated goals was to improve the Iraqi social/political fabric, not totally disassemble it.

If the U.S. leaves Iraq in turmoil the population will come to blame the U.S. for it's problems and the number of terrorists vowing death to the U.S.A. will grow. We must create a stable democratic government in Iraq to help deter further violence.

Don't care. If we are going to have a standing army, I'd rather it be utilized for protecting our own nation and embassies from invasion, not for political agendas.
