If you do not need one more than likely the doc will not ok it!! I will tell you you want a vaginal delivery over a c-section!!! It hurts very bad after a c-section! you will not be Mobile after one for like a week or so and you will get a scar!! I wanted one at first till I sat in on one during my shadowing for nursing school!! Yes a vaginal delivery hurts but if you have an epidural ( you have to have a spinal tap with a c-section!!) it will not hurt!! I can tell you from experience it is not near as bad as people make it out to be and I had an epidural at an 8 which did not take so I did it with no meds! I will tell you I was up and walking like an hour after delivery fine!! You will not be able to do that with a c-section and talk about pain you will be hurting bad for days to weeks!!

Good Luck!!!

Trust me, vaginal delivery is NOT that bad. Both my kids came out that way, and I would prefer that to getting cut open and taking more time to heal and having a scar. Sure you might be nervous, but trust me you don't want a c-section unless it is absolutely necessary!!! Plus it costs more money and you are in the hospital longer (3-4 days). After I had my kids, I went home the next day. Don't worry so much and just read up on it before you go into labor and you will feel much better :)

With a vaginal delivery its alot easier to recover from. I was great immediatley afterwards. I have done it 3 times now. I wouldnt ever have a c section because the idea of being cut open, stitched up and having to heal while taking care of a newborn just doesnt sound like a good idea, unless its absolutley necessary. Just do the vaginal delivery. You will be glad you did. Its over with quick and you feel better after.

Not usually. I was nervous about a vaginal delivery too, and ended up having a C-section.

Sure, at first it was great, labor was over, and I was done in 20 minutes. However, it took me over 6 months to recover, and those with vaginal births are usually back to normal within a week. What C-sections do to your abdominal muscles takes a long time to heal.

i had planned for vaginal delivery with my son. i was diallated to 9cm for 2 hours, and contractions were horrible. they finally told me that i needed to have a emergency c-section. I was really fine with it

what i was worried about was the spinal they gave me. I didn't want to be a vegetable the rest of my life. you will be up walking_the nurses make you for medical reasons_ within 8hrs!!! not bad for recovery time.

please check into anisteiaologist(don't know how to spell it) at the hospital you wish to have your child.

My c-section did take about 6-8weeks to completely heal and it was different than vaginal, but that was 4 ys ago, and i had staples in-NO it didn't hurt getting them out, which i was worried about also, but my sister had a baby a yr ago, and she was 'glued' up and moving in 2 weeks!!

The decision is yours, but finding a dr. that will preform a optional c-section is the problem you face.

me, i will have a c-section next time- i know what to expect and I know that my 'vagina wont be stretched out , iknow its never the same again after a vaginal birth.

just make sure you know your drs and the person that could do your epidural, be open to things changing at a fast pace. have a 1pg. birth plan in effect (you want the baby in the room w/you all the time, or the baby shouldn;t have a binky etc..)

make sure you have great support and only allow a few people in the room with you, make sure the nursing staff knows this.

the last thing you want is family members looking at the birth that you don't want in there.

good luck and welcome baby!!!

Most doctors will not allow you to choose a c-section unless there is a medical reason. It is safer to have a vaginal delivery. Remember that if you are in pain you can have medication during the delivery to help you relax

You may not want to do that, because of complications from the surgery ect. (A few women i know had to have it done, and their 2nd child had to be delivered the same way because of that.)

Not to mention infections ect. that can happen. Vaginal delivery is easier believe me. (It only burns a bit when the babys head comes out) I've never torn, so i can't tell you about that.

The contractions hurt the most & PRAY that you don't have back labor!

Not to scare you, but you should be prepared for anything.

I wish you luck, though i'm sure you'll do fine.

With my first pregnancy I was 100% sure that I wanted a C-Section.

4 weeks before my daughter was born, I just changed my mind and went for the vaginal birth.

For me personally, I am thankful that I changed my mind.

As soon as she was born the pain disappeared and 10 minutes later I was having a shower (on my own).

I know that you're probably scared and wondering how does something that size come out of something this size. Let me assure you - your body will know what to do and it will just happen.

Mother Nature is a wonderful thing..............

im sorry but id rather have a vaginal birth any day.a c section is major surgery and there can be risks that go along with any surgery.why are you more nervous about delivering vaginally then going under the knife?im more scared of getting cut and having stiches!i wouldnt get one unless its medically necessary!trust me vaginal births arent as bad as you have dreamt up in your mind!

You should work through your fears.

Honestly I can not imagine being more afraid of having a baby the way billions have been born then having my abodomen ripped open, amniotic fluid all in my abdominal cavity, then stitched back together. And that isn't even taking into account the potential risks.
