A great view is from the Park Hyatt restaurant called Nomi. It looks out over Water Tower and is really beautiful.
Also, just walk up Michigan Avenue. Start at the Wrigley building and walk North.
Also, walk around Daley Plaza and head east one block and walk along State Street.
Lastly, you can always go to the 95th floor at the Hancock.
Happy Holidays

If you mean tall building, then it's the John Hancock on Michigan Avenue. If it's a short building, then from the cafe in Borders Books also on Michigan Avenue. If it's the lights on State Street, you'd best conquer that on foot.

Most of the stores on State Street and Michigan Avenue are usually pretty well decorated.

the best view of the lights would be from the lakefront. If you go by the shed aquarium you can get an amazing view.

I used to go driving around in the suburbs with friends to see their lights, it's more like the small towns like where I grew up. Lincolnwood was always very nice.

The windows of Marshall Fields (it will always be Fields to me) will get you a nice view of Daley Plaza but the windows are done so well.
