Explain further what you mean, by "back on your feet." How will you know when that goal has been reached? Taking responsibility for your life and everything involved with it, is of paramount importance. Avoid, like the plague, any person expounding a philosophy that allows you to blame someone or something else for your circumstances. Getting a handout is also a bad idea, for much the same reason. You keep your personal dignity and self-respect by avoiding hand-outs. Take an account of what you have. All the hundred-and-fifty-plus things in life that you have to be thankful to God for. Improve your skills in the areas that need improvement the most. Personal financial management is not taught in most schools. This is usually a good place to start. Go down to the local major chain bookseller and take advantage of free reads until closing time. I used to do this a lot. Be careful -- who you associate with, their way of thinking will rub off on you. Associate only with winners. People who are in life where you want to be. "OPPORTUNITY."
