Take the beds apart...Put a mattress on the floor for each, give them a sheet, blanket and pillow. Pack everything else in their room away...They need to earn the stuff back...Personally i would have threatened their lives by now. If you do not get a handle on the now, you will lose later...

How about telling them if they don't go to bed on time and GO TO SLEEP then they go to bed earlier the next night to make up for the sleep they lost. Maybe after going to bed at 7 a time or two they'll go to sleep . . . Or split the girls up if they can't be quiet.(That's what my friend does who has 2 girls and the same problem sometimes) Put one in a sleeping bag in another room and take turns doing that with each of them if it continues. Sleeping on the floor a night or two won't kill them. Maybe it will make them appreciate their comfy beds a little more and they'll be quiet and go to sleep Good luck.

After supper, give each child a bath allowing minimal amount of play time - can use lavender scented bath products, etc ..... once get dressed for bed - have a brief period of time with lights low with either reading or soothing music playing .... no extra trips to the bathroom or for a drink(all that should be taken care of before entering the bedroom) ...... immediately after reading or pampering time(while listening to music) remind the child in gentle tones that it is time to go to sleep after a busy day ...... try using in the room the room fragrances for calming or relaxation - airwick and glade have these scents in various forms ..... if a light is necessary to sleep with - tone low.
If not already asleep, while departing room - say I love yous and night nights in low tones with reminder of what big girls and boy they are ..... and night night.
If child begins to try and depart room ..... right back in ..... may take several tries with reminder of tired and night night love yous but eventually will get the message and soon all can enjoy a good nights rest - together!

Many times all these manuvers are just the childs way of captivating your attention on them.

Best wishes and Merry Christmas!!!

You need to be very consistent and get them into a routine that they follow every night, example: homework,t.v,dinner, pick up room, baths, snack, read, nighttime. Do you ever watch SuperNanny? I have found that the techniques she uses are really effective. It will be hard for the first few nights to get them to sleep but they need to know who's the boss. Also, do not give them alot of sugar or caffeine, make sure they wake up early and get exercise in the daytime.

I would just shut their doors and wake them up at 6 am even on the weekends. If you would like atleast one day of sleeping in, sleep in on Saturday but go back to waking them up at 6 am on Sunday.

Also, nix desserts and any caffienated drinks after 6pm if they continue to be a problem.

you need to not enable him fall asleep on your mattress...at the same time as he wakes up, he's someplace else...thats maximum likey why he wakes up crying. i have had that difficulty. my son is almost 4. I under no circumstances had a difficulty with him for the first 2 yrs of his existence. I continually had positioned him to mattress, unsleeping. What you want to do, is supply him a bedtime. Make him bypass to mattress at a particular time each evening, make confident he's conscious and clarify to him that he has to sleep in his mattress. it ought to take a lengthy time period to get him used to the conception, mine is amazingly obdurate! It basically took me a week.....basically have staying power and holding explaining to him why he desires a bedtime. study him a tale good beforehand bedtime. once the recurring instruments in, you do not have any complications! i have been doing that, and so a procedures that is understanding.

Well, the younger ones you can use a safety gate on. (put in the entrance to the room, that's what i do with my 2 yr old son.)

As for the 8-11 yr olds, you can try positive reinforcement. (rewards for when they do as you ask)

Hope that helps & good luck!

Strip all the toys and books from their rooms, explain that if they persist in this manner then there will be more chores the next day. Spank them, and take away any other privaledges you can think of.
