X^2+5x+6

(x+3) (x+2)

u must know that x^2 can be factor by using two bracket like this ( )( )
and then, each bracket u put the x . for the another factor, that are 3 and 2 comes from the product 6 .so this is show that the another factors come from the products of multiplication (at the end that is 6) . and also u must check that the addition of two factors will come 5 (in the middle )

you can practise a lot.

if you have ax^2+bx+c, look for two numbers that have a sum of b (5 in this problem) and a product of c (6 in this problem). The two #s are 2 and 3.
So:
(x+2)(x+3)

This factors into (x+3)(x+2)... if you multiply this out again, you will see that you get back to where you started from.
