My friend's not lazy. I feel offended for someone saying that. He's one of the hardest workers I know. He works in retail, with everyone buying things from the internet his work place is losing buisness to the internet. We live in Detroit, has anyone watching the news. Almost everyone is losing their jobs in Detroit.

Been there (job issues) and the most important thing I learned was to be flexible . ( geography wise )
Sometimes the economy tanks in an area and you need to move to deal . (although I thought Detroit pretty much tanked a decade ago, just some residual work)
If you are serious, check out the labor market around the states and go where the getting is good , Detroit fished out .

Check with Goodwill Industries in your area.
